Palestine Solidarity Arrests in Cork

People Before Profit says arrest the real criminals responsible for genocide in Gaza while calling for all charges against the activists to be dropped.

Cork Offices of Collins Aerospace with Palestine and Lebanon flags draped over railings next to a banner and grafitti saying Collins Kills.

Two Palestine Solidarity Activists were arrested earlier today at Collins Aerospace.

Collins Aerospace is wholly owned by RTX Corporation, formerly Raytheon Technologies. Collins Aerospace is complicit in the genocide in Palestine with its weaponry, including detonating fuses for bombs being used against Palestinians by Israel. The Ditch has reported that Collins Aerospace has transported munitions through Irish airspace, even though this is illegal. This is despite demands from the Palestine Solidarity movement for this to end and for no weapons to pass through Irish airspace.

Our Governments need to go after the real war criminals, not activists who try to stop a genocide. They have repeatedly chosen inaction over the illegal munitions travelling through Irish airspace and allowing US weapons through Shannon and other airports on their way to Gaza. Today, we repeat the call for the Irish state to block these weapons and munitions that move illegally through Irish airspace.

This latest criminalisation of solidarity activists follows in the footsteps of the British state and others efforts to clamp down on activists stopping businesses directly involved in the genocide of Palestine. Thousands in Britain have been arrested for simply indicating their opposition to genocide and in support of Palestine Action’s efforts to stop it. Finally, we call on all charges to be dropped and an end to the criminalisation of the Palestine Solidarity Movement.
