Far-right parties have begun advertising for their followers to join their 'pay-triot' leaders and friends as they march to call for 'Remigration'. WE SAY NO.
This weekend People Before Profit will join UNITED AGAINST RACISM's COUNTER DEMONSTRATION to these hateful two-faced 'independents' and the racist fake-nationalism they are trying to encourage by waving flags while spitting hate at the most vulnerable.
We will protest AGAINST 'independents' and right-wing political parties who have joined Fianna Fáil/Fine Gael in government. The current 'independent'-supported government leaves workers without housing, families without healthcare, students in debt (or without school places), the young hopeless, and disabled on the outside.
And why? So they and their landlord-class, Living-Wage-avoiding friends and supporters can keep living off our rent and labour.
It's not about migrants or trans people or plantations or whatever flavour of the week panic they'll scream about this weekend. Migration didn't cause the problem. Reality: Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil (and their 'Independent' supporters) did. And when the far right distract, the wealthy can attack.
Ireland has over 150,000 empty houses- everyone knows it's not a migrant problem- not a really even a housing problem: it's a government problem.
Racism won't fix it*. Nationalist flag waving won't fix it. The fix won't come from marching with the far-right fake-nationalists. Stand against them and their racist thinking and their rich friends in government.
Standing up for Ireland is not about attacking the vulnerable minority: never was, never will be.
Standing up for Ireland is about saying 'Enough!' to the government and their boot boy 'Independents'- so we can stand up for each other.

*WHY ARE PEOPLE BEFORE PROFIT ANTI-RACIST?
People Before Profit has always proudly supported a united 32-county socialist future for Ireland. Just like James Connolly.
We stand in the fighting tradition of Connolly who organised workers of different languages and cultures of any trade into unions of united anti-racist fighting trade unionists here (and abroad) to fight for the itself- for the working class.
We stand in the anti-racist tradition of Roger Casement a queer anti-imperialist who saw through the racism at the heart of Britain's capitalist empire and became an anti-imperialist. He died fighting to free the Irish and other peoples from brutal racist imperialism here and abroad- against the most powerful empires of his day.
The real fight is against capitalism. Capitalism's what's keeping people from having real rights to housing and healthcare and education all the basic things we need for decent lives.
That's why we fight racism. Racism divides the fighters. It divides the vast majority of us who deserve a better life but can't get it here (or anywhere) because of capitalism's rules and the violence and racism that work to keep it in place.
We want to unite and break with racism to break with capitalism, so working people can build a future that works for all of us.
Racism has no place in the fight to win that future. It has no place in Ireland: past, present, or future.
So that's why we're anti-racists and that's why we support UNITED AGAINST RACISM's Counter Demonstrations.
