Speaking after Keir Starmer's announcement that the UK government has recognised Palestinian statehood, Gerry Carroll said: "It is a welcome move that Britain, the nation that created Israel and subjected Palestinians to terror and repression for well over a hundred years, has now recognised that Palestine should exist as a state."

"For Palestine or any state to exist, we need to address the fact that its neighbour, the state next door, is a bullying, nuclear armed and genocidal project."
