Students must be given full refund and DBS and CORU must find solution so students are able to find social care work
People Before Profit TD Paul Murphy has slammed Dublin Business School (DBS) for what he described as “outrageous treatment of students’ who were told by the college that they would not be qualified once they complete their course in social care.
It has been reported today that the accrediting body CORU has deemed that the course would not be accredited. Without this accreditation DBS social care students will not be able to become registered social care workers.
Paul Murphy TD, the PBP education spokesperson, said: “This outrageous treatment of students must be remedied immediately by the college. The students must be given a full refund and solutions must be found by DBS and CORU to make it possible for the students to qualify in social care.
“At the very least these students should be given a full refund and the college and CORU must ensure that the students are given what is needed to become qualified in their chosen field.”
