People Before Profit TD Paul Murphy spoke from the polling station this morning in Tallaght where he cast his vote for Catherine Connolly.
Paul said: “I’m calling on people to come out and vote for Catherine Connolly. Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael want people who are disillusioned, who are angry with the political establishment, to stay at home or to spoil their vote. That's the best thing that can happen for them. So get out and use your vote to put Catherine Connolly in the Áras and help deliver a trouncing of the political establishment and a victory for a united left.”
Today we have the opportunity to defeat the government and put a voice for ordinary people, for peace, housing, justice and solidarity into the Áras. Throughout this campaign, we’ve built a popular unity around Catherine’s platform. We've engaged tens of thousands into participating and building this movement up from the grassroots. This campaign has shown that a left which unites and fights can develop the momentum to create a better Ireland. Now’s the time to get out and push our movement across the line- polling stations are open until 10pm.
